I wasn't always a "yoga person." In my early 20s, fresh out of college, I was a management consultant who spent long hours in an uncomfortable chair (or airplane seat), hunched over a laptop and clinging to my Blackberry for dear life. I was 22 years old and receiving chiropractic adjustments on a weekly basis due to upper and lower back pain.
Flash forward a few years later, and I was a stressed-out MBA student hunched over textbooks and a laptop, freaking out about midterms and landing the perfect internship. One of my classmates and best friends, Stacy, dragged me to my first yoga class. "This will do you good," she reassured me. "But yoga isn't meant for someone like me!" I protested.
The rest, as they say, is history. In January 2017, I received my 200 hour yoga teacher certification at The Yoga Room in Queens, NY. I work with students of all levels, from first-time yogis to students who have been practicing all of their lives, and create upbeat and bright classes meant to stimulate curiosity on and off the mat. My goal is to create an inviting atmosphere that leaves you feeling supported, refreshed, restored, and grounded - better when you leave than when you first walked into class.
